Otters are highly intelligent, extremely playful semi-aquatic mammals belonging to the weasel family, featuring the thickest fur in the animal kingdom (up to 1 million hairs per square inch). They are known for holding hands while sleeping to stay together (a group of otters like this is called a “raft”), using tools like rocks to break open food, and will even store favorite rocks in skin pouches to use later.
