At first glance, the delicate appendages that earn leafy sea dragons their claim to fame may give you the impression that they’re used to swim through the water.  It may be surprising, but none of these gauzy attachments are actually used for movement; rather, their sole purpose is to serve as camouflage, allowing them to blend into the lush kelp and seaweed forests rendering them nearly invisible to predators.
