Oyster mushrooms are opportunistic carnivores and while that might sound like something out of a B-rated horror movie, the process is similar to a spider that has caught a fly in its web.  As the oyster mushroom mycelium spreads throughout its substrate, it secretes a toxin that will paralyze roundworms, and then harpoon-like filaments puncture the roundworm, liquefying their innards for easy absorption.  Nobody said it was pretty, but it seems to be effective!
